From a Nairobi startup to a regional technology partner
Tornad was founded in Nairobi after the founding team spent years watching Kenyan businesses struggle with enterprise software designed for Western markets. Payroll systems that didn't understand PAYE bands. ERP platforms with no concept of M-Pesa. HRMS tools that couldn't handle SHIF and NSSF contributions correctly.
We built Tornad to solve this. Starting with a payroll and attendance platform purpose-built for Kenya's statutory environment, we expanded into HRMS, ERP, CRM, e-commerce, and full custom application development. Every product we have ever shipped has been designed from the ground up for the Kenyan regulatory framework and East African business culture.
Today we operate across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Ethiopia — serving SMEs in Westlands, manufacturers in Athi River, financial institutions in Nairobi CBD, hospitals in Kisumu, and NGOs across the region. Our team is headquartered at Mageso Chamber on Moi Avenue, Nairobi, with the ability to deploy and support clients on-site throughout East Africa.
Founded — Payroll & Attendance Platform
Launched Kenya's first payroll system with native KRA PAYE, NHIF, and NSSF compliance built into the core engine. First 20 clients onboarded within 6 months.
HRMS & Biometrics
Expanded into full HR management and integrated with ZKTeco, Anviz, and Suprema biometric devices for fingerprint, face recognition, and RFID attendance.
ERP & CRM
Launched full ERP with KRA VAT and ETR compliance, and a CRM platform with WhatsApp Business integration for Kenyan sales teams.
E-Commerce & Regional Expansion
Built Kenya's first e-commerce platform with native M-Pesa Daraja STK Push integration. Expanded client base to Uganda and Tanzania.
QuotientOne Launched
Packaged a decade of ERP delivery experience into QuotientOne — a self-serve, all-in-one business management platform with 33 modules, available as a subscription at quotientone.com.
TornadPRO Launched
Brought the same self-serve model to property management — TornadPRO gives landlords and property managers a rental platform with a public listings page, available at ams.tornad.co.ke.

Every financial module calculates and reports in line with KRA requirements. PAYE bands, VAT, ETR receipting, P9 forms, and iTax returns are built into the core.
Native M-Pesa Integration
Payroll disburses salaries via M-Pesa bulk payments. E-commerce accepts STK Push and Paybill. No middleware, no workarounds — Daraja API at the core.
